Herbert Maurice William Weedon (10 May 1920 – 20 April 2012), known professionally as Bert Weedon, was an English guitarist and composer. He became the first British guitarist to have a hit record in the UK Singles Chart, with "Guitar Boogie Shuffle" in 1959. His style of playing was very popular during the 1950s and ’60s and influential on many musicians, including Eric Clapton, Brian May, Paul McCartney and Jimmy Page.
