She first gained public attention by winning Miss Teen Nepal 2005. She later moved to the United States to pursue higher education, graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Film and Digital Media Production from the University of North Alabama. After returning to Nepal, she made her acting debut in the 2012 film 3 Lovers and quickly became a box-office powerhouse through major hits such as Jholay, Nai Nabhannu La 2, and the record-breaking Chhakka Panja franchise. In her personal life, Priyanka is married to fellow Nepali actor Ayushman Desraj Shrestha Joshi.
