Stefano Miraglia (Málaga, 1988) is a visual artist, filmmaker, independent curator, and film programmer based in Paris. Informed by collage and noise music, his films and installations explore the connections between artistic creation, personal memory, and the perception of space, combining documentary materials with abstract approaches. His work has been shown in exhibition spaces and film institutions including e-flux Film, the Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab, Cinematek — Cinémathèque royale de Belgique, the Beijing International Short Film Festival, and Prismatic Ground. Alongside his artistic practice, his curatorial projects center on exhibitions featuring established and emerging moving image artists, with particular attention to building long-term collaborative processes. It also extends to online initiatives: he is the founder of movimcat, a project dedicated to the dissemination of artists’ moving image, and has curated digital programs for Nomadica, LABA Brescia, The Wrong Biennale, Istanbul Experimental and Chute Film Coop. Since 2018, he has worked as a film programmer, curating and presenting several screenings of experimental and artists’ films, and is currently a member of the programming team of the Pesaro Film Festival in Italy. He is also a member of the French association of art curators C|E|A. His work has involved collaborations with a wide range of art centers, film festivals and cultural institutions, including Cité internationale des arts, Bétonsalon, Courtisane, ENSA Bourges – La Box, Fabrica research centre, Festival de l’Histoire de l’Art, Festival des Cinémas Différents et Expérimentaux de Paris, Kino Climates, KORA, La Rada, Media City Film Festival, and Optica. He has also supported a wide range of projects as a consultant. His first book, Donda Retrieved: Inquiry Into a Disappearance (Adriatico Book Club, 2026), is one of the outcomes of his long-term activities towards the rediscovery and reappraisal of the work of writer and filmmaker Ellis Donda (1947–2023). He has also published interviews and essays in Débordements, Found Footage Magazine, Alt/Kino, and A Cuarta Parede.
