Michael Joseph Charles Greyeyes (born 4 June 1967, Qu'Appelle Valley, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian First Nations (Plains Cree, Muskeg Lake Cree Nation) actor, dancer, choreographer, director, and educator. He was the first Indigenous boy to graduate from the National Ballet School of Canada (1984) and danced with The National Ballet of Canada and Eliot Feld's company before a leg injury led him to acting. He earned an MFA from Kent State University (2003) and is the founding artistic director of Signal Theatre. He won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Actor for Blood Quantum (2019) and received Independent Spirit Award nominations for Wild Indian and Rutherford Falls. His film credits include Smoke Signals (1998), The New World (2005), Woman Walks Ahead (2018), Togo (2019), and Firestarter (2022). On television he is best known as Terry Tarbell in Rutherford Falls (2021–2022, 18 episodes) and has appeared in True Detective (S3), Fear the Walking Dead, I Know This Much Is True, and 1923. He is also the first Indigenous professor in the Department of Theatre at York University. He is married to ballet dancer Nancy Latoszewski; they have two children.
